Dollar Plus Store Pricing
Our Dollar Plus stores offer the traditional dollar store merchandise; “Is all this really just one dollar?” along with the ability to offer additional or expanded categories of merchandise and additional name-brand items not available within the single dollar pricing structure. Electronics, sporting goods, expanded grocery and snacks, automotive, apparel, home decor and much more – can be part of your merchandise mix in the Dollar Plus format. This enables your store to bring to each customer the excitement of the “treasure hunting” experience that is so important in the dollar store environment along with a much broader array of merchandise choices including high quality everyday items. The pricing and constantly changing merchandise brings customer back to the Dollar Plus store on a regular and frequent basis to see “what’s new”. For the storeowner, this translates to larger sales per customer, the ability to appeal to a broader range of shoppers, and a greater profit potential.
Using the blended dollar and multiple dollar-based pricing structure ($2.00, $3.00, 3/ $5.00 etc.) removes pricing limits on the selection of merchandise for your store. In densely populated metropolitan areas, national chains such as Big Lots have demonstrated the success of this format; in smaller and mid-size communities, a visit to a Family Dollar or Dollar General is part of the weekly shopping experience for many consumers, combining the unique experience of shopping a dollar store with the ability to do a majority of their shopping quickly and conveniently. These stores have taken on the role of the variety stores of years past (Woolworth’s, Kresge, and Ben Franklin, among others).
The store fixtures we utilize create a beautiful presentation for the merchandise. We supply steel framed gondolas with pegboard backing and beautiful cash counters. We can provide specialty display units, and glass display units. Glass showcases are available with the Dollar Plus store packages. We use slatboard with melamine finish on all interior retail walls. We do not supply carpeting but when it is needed the landlord will generally provide it at no cost.
Dollar Plus stores are packaged as a turnkey business opportunity. To adequately merchandise the expanded and additional categories, dollar plus stores typically are a minimum of 3,000 square feet in size; however, in the correct enviroment smaller store footprints can be very strong!
